Will They Ban TikTok?
Who else is tired of hearing the TikTok ban rumors?
For nearly two years, we’ve heard about the possibility of banning TikTok. For much of that time, it seemed like a long shot. But over the last 60 days, the narrative has shifted, and now a ban is looking more likely than ever. Crypto odds maker Polymarket currently places the odds of a TikTok ban at 64%.
But here’s the thing: even if a ban happens, that doesn’t mean the platform will cease to exist.
People like Kevin O’Leary and Elon Musk have already expressed interest in purchasing the U.S. operations of TikTok, which could give it a second life under new ownership. However, this uncertainty highlights a critical lesson for founders: the importance of owning your audience.
All social media platforms—TikTok, Facebook, Instagram, and even X (formerly Twitter)—are just one algorithm update away from limiting your reach. You might think you "own" your audience because of your large following, but the reality is that you’re at the mercy of these platforms’ decisions.
Email, on the other hand, is timeless. It’s the only true way to directly and consistently reach your audience.
Let me give you an example: I’ve built a presence across every major social media platform. Yes, I can post my podcast episodes or share my messages and reach a lot of people. But it’s unpredictable and inconsistent. Social media algorithms dictate how much of my content is actually seen.
In contrast, my newsletter allows me to reach over 14,000 people every week with the push of a button. That consistency and control won’t change regardless of any platform or algorithm updates. That’s the power of email marketing.
For founders who haven’t prioritized email yet, there’s no better time to start. There are countless tools and resources available to make email management and list growth simple. One example is our sponsor, Superhuman. They’ve revolutionized inbox management, allowing you to focus on what matters: growing your audience and customer base.
So, what will actually happen to TikTok? Nobody knows for sure. But the bigger takeaway is clear: as a founder, you need to own your audience.

Moral of the story: if you haven’t started building your email list, start today. Your future self will thank you.
Noah Tucker: Redefining Affiliate Marketing for E-Commerce Brands
This week on Beyond The Wealth, I spoke with Noah Tucker, founder of Social Snowball, a leading affiliate marketing platform. Noah shared his incredible journey—from starting his first Shopify store after high school to bootstrapping Social Snowball into a thriving platform with over 2,500 brands and millions of affiliates.
For entrepreneurs navigating the e-commerce space, Noah’s insights on affiliate marketing, product development, and team building are invaluable.
Noah’s story begins on a fishing boat, where a chance encounter with friends running a dropshipping business sparked his curiosity about e-commerce. Over the years, he transitioned from consulting and media buying to creating his own affiliate platform after recognizing the limitations of legacy tools.
“I was solving a problem I felt every day, and I knew others were facing it too.”
Noah’s journey wasn’t without challenges—he spent two years navigating the complexities of software development, often learning the hard way. But his persistence paid off, and Social Snowball now empowers brands to scale their affiliate and influencer partnerships seamlessly.
